5. Carbonfund.org
: Carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of fossil fuels are
causing the Earth’s climate to change and warm, which will
have catastrophic results if we do not act to reduce them. Carbon
dioxide emissions are about 40% higher than they were before the
Industrial Revolution and at their highest levels in recorded history,
covering over 650,000 years.
6. U.S.

on the broad issue of climate change. * Science: Explains our current
scientific understanding of the causes of past, present and future
climate change.
7. Globalwarming.net

international body disseminating information on global warming science
and policy, serving both governamental, non-governamental organizations,
and industries in more than 145 countries. It sponsors unbiased
research supporting the understanding of global warming and its
mitigation.
Among its best known projects are:

8. Climatenetwork.org
- The Climate Action Network (CAN) is a worldwide network
of over 365 Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working to promote
government and individual action to limit human-induced climate
change to ecologically sustainable levels.
CAN members work to achieve this goal through the coordination
of information exchange and NGO strategy on international, regional
and national climate issues. CAN has seven regional offices which
co-ordinate these efforts in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe,
Europe, Latin America, North America, South Asia, and Southeast
Asia.
CAN members place a high priority on both a healthy environment
and development that "meets the needs of the present without
comprimising the ability of future generations to meet their own
needs" (Brundtland Commission). Climate Action Network's vision
is to protect the atmosphere while allowing for sustainable and
equitable development worldwide.
9. Globalwarming.org
- This web site is a project of the Cooler Heads Coalition, a sub-group

Consumer Coalition. The Cooler Heads Coalition formed May 6,
1997 to dispel the myths of global warming by exposing flawed economic,
scientific, and risk analysis. Coalition members will also follow
the progress of the international Global Climate Change Treaty negotiations.
10. StopGlobalWarming.org
- The Stop Global Warming Virtual March is a non-partisan effort
to bring citizens together to declare that global warming is here
now and that it is time to demand solutions. Global warming is the
most urgent issue of our time, and while the problem is of worldwide
significance, we recognize that the United States is the biggest
emitter of greenhouse gases, responsible for 40% of the industrialized
world's emissions, and doing the least about it. The necessary first
step must be to encourage Americans to take action. This online
grassroots movement is about change -- as individuals, as a country,
and as a global community. We are all contributors to global warming
and must all be part of the solution.
With the support of leading scientists, political, religious, cultural
and business leaders, the Virtual March is creating one, loud collective
voice that will be heard around the world. By spreading the word,
we are building a movement to stop global warming.
11. National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration : One of the most
hotly debated topics on Earth is the issue of climate change, and
the National
Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS)
data centers are central to answering some of the most pressing
global change questions that remain unresolved. The National Climatic
Data Center contains the instrumental records that can precisely
define the nature of climatic fluctuations at time scales of a up
to a century. Among the diverse kinds of data platforms whose data
contribute to NCDC's armamentarium are: Ships, buoys, weather
stations, balloons, satellites, and aircraft. The National
Oceanographic Data Center contains the subsurface data which
reveal the ways that heat is distributed and redistributed over
the planet. Knowing how these systems are changing and how they
have changed in the past is crucial to understanding how they will
change in the future. And, for climate information that extends
from hundreds to thousands of years, the paleoclimatology
program, also at the National Climatic Data Center, helps to
provide longer term perspectives.

climate scientists for the interested public and journalists. We
aim to provide a quick response to developing stories and provide
the context sometimes missing in mainstream commentary. The discussion
here is restricted to scientific topics and will not get involved
in any political or economic implications of the science.

16. Environmental
Defense : A unique approach to the most serious envrionmental
problems .We show how economic growth and a healthy planet can go
hand in hand. Rather than engaging in confrontation, we prefer to
sit down with other stakeholders, roll up our sleeves, and introduce
change. With more Ph.D. scientists and economists than any similar
group, we don’t just point out problems; we create lasting
solutions. We work directly with businesses, government and communities
in a nonpartisan manner, developing constructive alternatives that
make sens

20. World
view of global warming.org : Since 2002 this website
has born witness to ongoing changes on Planet Earth caused by global
warming. The photo essays and reports shown above and within, have
just been given background in comprehensive and authoritative detail
by the world's climate scientists.
A huge change is underway across the globe and in its atmosphere,
they report, that is affecting not only nature, but the lives and
homes of millions of people. Changes can be measured from the highest
mountains to deep in the oceans and are leading to extinction for
parts of earth's rich biodiversity. For humans, the changes in climate
are particularly dangerous to people who live near the ocean shore
and who already suffer from drought, flooding and poverty.
21. Climatehotmap.org
- Global temperature in 1998 was the hottest in the historical record,
and the temperature increase over the 20th century is likely to
be the highest of the past millennium. Global average temperatures
have warmed about one degree Fahrenheit (0.6?C) since 1900. The
ten warmest years on record have occurred since 1987, seven of them
since 1994.This map illustrates the local consequences of global
warming.

pollution, save consumers money and curtail our reliance on oil.
23. Livescience.com
- Global Warming : Scientists from the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate carrying out global warming research have recently
predicted that average global temperatures could increase between
1.4 and 5.8 ?C by the year 2100. Changes resulting from global warming

caps, as well as an increase in occurrence and severity of storms
and other severe weather events.
